Rebecca White, already facing a hostile Labor State Conference after her key ally Scott Bacon abandoned her, has faced strong criticism from former Labor Premier Paul Lennon who has rebuked her for not having a plan to keep Tasmania’s economy strong.
Mr Lennon said recently: “. . . the best way to help working people is to have a very strong economy,”* confirming the Hodgman majority Liberal Government’s Plan to keep the economy strong is working.
After five and a half years in Opposition, Labor still has not developed a long-term plan for Tasmania’s economic future, nor apologised for the 10,000 jobs lost under its last Labor-Green Government.
In stark contrast, since coming to office, there have been 13,000 jobs created under the Hodgman majority Liberal Government.
A brief look at Labor’s State Conference Agenda shows a Party in the midst of an identity crisis.
Their Agenda reveals some extreme left wing motions, including a plan to over-bloat the public sector through ‘insourcing’ and an increase in public holidays for public servants, demonstrating yet again Labor is out of touch and can’t be trusted with your money.
You just don’t know what you’re going to get with Labor, who given the chance would do a deal with the Greens to get back into government after having voted with them in Parliament in excess of 90 per cent of the time this year – a new record!
Tasmania’s economic future and continued confidence is too important to risk on a Labor Party so close to the Greens, and with no plan and no economic policies to maintain growth in every region of our state.
