New Council to be Sworn In

Following the declaration of results in the Ballarat Local Government election, a new Council will be sworn in at a Statutory Meeting at the Ballarat Town Hall on Wednesday, 11 November at 7pm.

The Statutory Meeting will be closed to the public due to COVID-19 but will be broadcast live on the Council website.

The swearing in ceremony requires all nine Councillors- elect to take an Oath or Affirmation; and declaration to abide by a Councillor Code of Conduct.

It will be followed by the election of the Mayor and Deputy Mayor positions.

Janet Dore, Chief Executive Officer, will chair the Statutory Meeting.

The new Council's first Council meeting will be Wednesday, 2 December 2020.

The Victorian Electoral Commission has declared the results of the City of Ballarat Council election with the following candidates successful.

Central Ward: Belinda Coates, Mark Harris, Samantha McIntosh

North Ward: Amy Johnson, Peter Eddy, Daniel Moloney

South Ward: Des Hudson, Ben Taylor, Tracey Hargreaves
