Police investigate car crash in Melbourne's CBD

Melbourne East police are hoping to speak to the driver of an Aston Martin following a car crash in Melbourne's CBD early this morning.

It is believed a woman was driving a V12 Aston Martin Vanquish along Elizabeth Street about 12.25am.

The woman turned left at the intersection of Collins Street and crashed into a pole near the middle-lane tram stop.

She then fled on foot prior to police arrival and left her 27-year-old male passenger at the scene, who assisted police with enquiries.

The car sustained major damage to its front area and was towed from the scene.

The female driver remains outstanding and the investigation is ongoing.
