Police arrest five after dangerous driving across city and western suburbs

Police have arrested five people after a stolen car was driven erratically and at high speeds across several suburbs in the city and Melbourne's west.

Police attempted to intercept a stolen vehicle on Sydney Road, Melbourne, about 4am.

The vehicle sped away from officers but was followed by the Victoria Police Airwing, continuing to drive erratically until it eventually came to a stop in Point Cook.

Uniform member and the Dog Squad were deployed and five people were arrested at Atlas Walk.

All were taken into custody and are currently assisting investigators with their enquiries.
