Police arrest man after stabbing - North Parramatta

A man has been arrested near Penrith following an alleged stabbing at a sporting ground in Sydney's north-west today.

Officers from Cumberland Police Area Command attended Old Saleyards Reserve on Gladstone Street, North Parramatta, just after 11.20am (Sunday 9 August 2020), after three males – aged 16, 19 and 22 – were injured during a physical altercation at the conclusion of a rugby league match.

The injured males remain in Westmead Hospital.

Several men fled the scene in a vehicle and with assistance from PolAir, officers from Nepean Police Area Command and the Public Order and Riot Squad, attended a home on Victoria Street, Cambridge Park, just before 2pm.

A 19-year-old man was arrested at the home and taken to Nepean Hospital under police guard for treatment of an existing hand injury.

Investigations continue.
