Police charge man after children assaulted on bus at Seaforth

A man has been charged after an incident on a bus at Seaforth yesterday.

Just after 2.30pm (Wednesday 2 December 2020), two 14-year-old boys boarded a bus travelling from Chatswood to Manly, when a man allegedly slapped one boy across the head and pushed the other teen.

It is also alleged the male damaged one of the boy's mobile phones by smashing it on the floor of the bus.

After witnessing the incidents, the bus driver drove to Manly Police Station, where officers arrested the man.

Following inquiries, officers from Manly Police Area Command charged a 24-year-old with:

• Use intimidation/violence to unlawfully influence person (x 2)

• Common assault-T2 (x 2)

• Steal from the person value

• Destroy or damage property

The man was granted conditional to attend Manly Local Court on Wednesday 9 December 2020.
