Police execute warrant in search for Kobie's killer

Missing Persons Squad detectives returned to Ballarat last night and executed a search warrant at a property in Hickman Street as part of the investigation into the suspicious disappearance of Kobie Parfitt.

Detectives returned to the property, along with forensic officers to examine the scene.

Earlier this week, detectives appealed for public assistance after they determined that Kobie had been murdered on 28 April.

Detective Inspector Andrew Stamper said this has been an extensive investigation over a short period of time and we are getting very close to finding those responsible for Kobie's death.

"The investigation has lead us to determine that Kobie was last seen alive at a property on Hickman Street on 28 April, and we believe she was murdered the same day, he said.

"We have returned to the area a number of times already and will continue to do so every time we receive new information.

"I've said before, we know there are people in the community who know what happened to Kobie and we urge those who we haven't already spoken to, to contact us.

"We are continuing to receive a significant amount of information and it's a matter of time before those responsible for her death are arrested.

"Our investigators are sifting through every piece of information and I would like to thank the public for their continued response to our appeals for information and urge anyone else with information to come forward.

Anyone with information regarding Kobie's death is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential crime report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
