Smart City success

The City of Greater Geelong has won best collaboration or partnership achievement of the year at the 2020 Municipal Association Victoria (MAV) Technology Awards for Excellence.

Judges declared the Smart City project Geelong Data Exchange an exemplary model which should be replicated across local government.

The platform makes data user-friendly for our community. It provides businesses, entrepreneurs, innovators, students, researchers and academics with access to quality data to test new ideas, research problems and find solutions.

It allows the City of Greater Geelong to make evidence-based decisions and deliver better-informed policies

The platform was also nominated for an Australian Internet of Things (IoT) Award in the Smart City category. Curious about IoT Learn how the City is utilising this emerging technology.

It's exciting for Greater Geelong be recognised for our Smart City achievements amongst so many other fantastic organisations and initiatives.
