Police charge man for fatal hit-run in Hamilton

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man after an alleged fatal hit-run in Hamilton on 10 March.

A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in Henry Court shortly after 3am.

The victim, a 48-year-old Hamilton man, died at the scene.

The driver allegedly fled the scene and was arrested a short time later.

A 52-year-old Balmoral man was charged with dangerous driving causing death, fail to stop and fail to render assistance.

He will appear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court this morning.
