Swan Hill Town Hall update

Council wishes to advise that the Swan Hill Town Hall Performing Arts and Conference Centre (PACC) will remain closed for external bookings until the end of August.

Council's Director Community and Cultural Services Bruce Myers said the coronavirus situation continued to have an impact on venues and events involving a large number of people in indoor spaces.

"Despite the gradual easing of restrictions, including recent announcements around the easing of restrictions for theatres and concert venues, it is clear the Swan Hill Town Hall PACC will not be available for normal activities for some time," Mr Myers said.

"For large-capacity venues like the Town Hall PACC, work must be undertaken to develop procedures and ensure appropriate measures are in place to stop the potential risk of coronavirus.

"This also includes addressing any capacity limitations," he added.

"When guidelines are clear for venues such as the Town Hall Council staff will be working hard at the venue to put these procedures and measures in place.

"We understand people are keen to start returning to our beautiful Town Hall PACC, however implementing these procedures and measures are necessary for the protection of our audiences and staff."

At this stage the venue remains closed until the end of August to external bookings, including all non-Council meetings, performances and conferences.

Some Council activities such as immunisation sessions and Council meetings are being held at the site.

The situation will continue to be monitored and reviewed in the event that further easing of restrictions changes circumstances earlier than expected.
