Arson Squad arrest man after four scrub fires

Arson Squad detectives have charged a 32-year-old man as a result of their investigation into deliberately lit fires in bushland in in the Perth CBD, Innaloo and City Beach areas.

It is alleged the man set four fires in bushland, details below:-

• Around 11.40pm on Sunday 9 August 2020, he set a fire in Bold Park, City Beach;

• Around 4am on Sunday 18 October 2020, he set a fire near Forrest Drive, Kings Park;

• Around 9.20am on Wednesday 28 October, he set a fire in Bold Park, City Beach; and

• Around 12.30pm on Wednesday 28 October, he set a fire near Cedric Street, Innaloo.

Arson Squad detectives arrested the man on Friday 30 October 2020 and he was charged with four counts of 'Wilfully light or cause to be lit a fire likely to injure or damage.'

The 32-year-old man from Subiaco is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court (Northbridge) today, 31 October 2020.
