One charged, inquiries continue, after two people stabbed - Lavington

One man has been charged and inquiries are continuing after two people were stabbed at Lavington on Friday.

About 8pm (Friday 11 December 2020), a man entered a home in Wagga Road, Lavington, and allegedly stabbed a 38-year-old woman with a kitchen knife.

The 44-year-old man, who was known to the woman, was then allegedly attacked by two men at the front of the home. The man sustained multiple stab wounds and was taken to Albury Hospital where he remains under police guard.

Officers attached to the Murray River Police District attended and established a crime scene at the home.

Following inquiries, officers arrested a 19-year-old man a short time later at a home in Eastern Circuit, East Albury.

The man was taken to Albury Police Station where he was charged with reckless wounding in company. He was bail refused to appear at Albury Local Court tomorrow (Monday 14 December 2020).

The woman was treated in Albury Hospital for non life-threatening injuries.
