Death of an inmate from Federal Training Centre 16 June

On June 13, 2020, Marc Goudreault, an inmate from the Federal Training Centre, died while in our custody.

At the time of his death, Mr. Goudreault had been serving a sentence of two years and one month for possession of substances for the purpose of selling, cultivation of cannabis, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a weapon contrary to a prohibition order and failure to comply with a probation order since November 1, 2019.

The inmate's next of kin have been notified of his death.

As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, Correctional Service Canada (CSC) will review the circumstances. CSC policy requires that the police and the coroner be notified.
