Face-to-face classes no longer allowed

New coronavirus restrictions apply in Bavaria from today. The Bavarian State Ministry of Science and the Arts has informed universities that the 9th regulation on measures to prevent infection (BayIfSMV) (available in German only) is now in force from today.

The regulation states that face-to-face teaching is no longer allowed with immediate effect. The only exceptions are the following: Practical and artistic training modules and classes that require special laboratories or work rooms at the university are permitted to take place as long as all participants maintain the minimum social distancing of 1.5 m from each other. Masks must continue to be worn at all times.

Academic libraries remain open, and the minimum social distancing must be maintained here too. Examinations can also go ahead, but only under the conditions that are already in place.
