Detectives from Eastern Beaches Police Area Command are appealing for assistance after a car was set alight in Matraville last month.
About 4am on Saturday 21 November 2020, a green Ford Focus sedan was parked on Lone Pine Parade, Matraville, when it was set alight and completely destroyed.
Early investigations suggest the vehicle had been doused in a flammable substance prior to the fire.
Detectives are hoping to speak with the occupants of a red hatchback that was seen in the area around the time of the fire.
The hatchback contained three occupants including a man and two women.
The man has been described as having a slim build, about 180cm tall with an olive complexion, and short dark hair. He was wearing shorts at the time with no shirt.
Both women have been described as being Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander in appearance with medium builds and long dark hair. They are believed to be aged in the 30s.
Anyone who may have information that can assist should contact detectives at Maroubra Police Station, or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
