Police appeal to locate Malaysian national missing from Sydney since late 2020

The Missing Persons Registry are appealing for public assistance to help locate a Malaysian national missing since late 2020 in Sydney.

Jacky Chong Kai Wong – aged 25 – had been living in Sydney since 2016 and last made contact with a family member in Malaysia by phone on Monday 28 December 2020.

Family believe Jacky may have been working in regional NSW before he went missing.

He has not been seen or heard from since and was later reported missing to international authorities.

The State Crime Command's Missing Persons Registry has since commenced inquiries after receiving notification of Wong's disappearance through Interpol.

Initial inquiries to locate Jacky have so far been unsuccessful and police are appealing for anyone with information about his whereabouts or movements to come forward.

Police and family hold serious concerns for his welfare as his disappearance is out of character.

Jacky is described as being of Asian appearance, about 175cm tall, of medium build, and short black hair. He may be wearing glasses.

He was last known to frequent the Sydney CBD and Burwood areas.
